Chen Nadler: Hug it out

Halaus praktiikkana, halaus ympyräliikkeenä, halaus kehon kautta välittyvänä tunteena, yksinkertaisten yhteyksien ja mahdollisuuksien säilytysastiana. Haluaisin tutkia mahdollisuuksia ylläpitää, syleillä, sallia kuuluvuuden tunnetta, antaa tilaa toiselle ja itselleni, harjoittelemalla halausta liikemallina ja todellisena merkityksenä, muiden kanssa ja itseni kanssa, vuorovaikutteisena tekona. Olen kiinnostunut tutkimaan esitystilaa rituaalipaikkana, jossa voin yhdessä yleisön kanssa muuttaa ja tutkia, korostaa ja harjoitella reagoivaa kehoa, kuvaa kehosta, joka voi sisältää toisen olennon, yleisön, tilan, jossa jaan harjoitukseni, ja sitten saada sen resonoimaan. Yksinkertainen halaus luo mielestäni sanattoman yhteisymmärryksen ja voi saada aikaan tunteita huomaavaisuudesta, syleilystä, yhteenkuuluvuudesta, kommunikaatiosta ja läheisyydestä. Valitsin tämän tutkimuksen motiiviksi ympyrärakenteen, joka liittyy vahvasti rituaaleihin, esimerkkinä perusmallista, joka on olemassa kaikessa.

A hug as a practice, a hug as a circle motion, a hug as a feeling that goes out through the body, a container of simple connections and possibilities. I would like to explore the possibilities to contain, to embrace, to allow a sense of belonging, to give space to the other and also for myself, by practicing the hug as a movement pattern, and as a true meaning, with others, and with myself, an interactive act. I am interested in researching the performance space as a ritual place, where I , together with the audience, can transform and explore, and, to emphasize and to practice the responding body, the image of a body that can contain the other being, the audience, the space I'm sharing my practice in, and then, to resonate it out.The simple act of hugging, I feel, creates a common understanding without words, and can allow feelings of consideration, embrace, togetherness, communication and intimacy to flow. I chose a circle structure as a motive of this exploration, that is very much connected to rituals, as an example of the basic pattern that exists in all.
