Leila Kourkia: Creativity project

In Humina Open Space Kourkia conducts an audience workshop where weight transfer and play with time are studied through simple exercises, followed by a multidisciplinary artistic reflection.

we are (with) many is a choreographic exploration into collective movement and ecological interdependence. Rooted in shared imageries of mountains, forests, roots, lakes, and rivers, this dance performance engages in embodied practices to navigate support and interdependence between humans and more-than-humans. Through negotiation, chant and touch, the performance opens space to question how we move and touch in times of crisis and transformation.

A demo for a performance that will be part of Earth Forces´ MAA: PAIKKA exhibition at Titanik gallery (October 14–19). The exhibition explores how we locate ourselves on the planet, forests as local communities, and spaces that support the transition toward sustainability as enablers of local knowledge — and envisions the defense of the Earth through experiential knowledge and bodily understanding. The performance is part of the exhibition's whole, drawing inspiration from uniforms, ceremonies, awards, and speeches.

The working group are the current members of Earth Forces: Aino Johansson, Sofia Simola, Maria Rannanheimo, Riina Hannula, and Oona Leinovirtanen.
